As a new church, we’re inviting Vision Builders partners to help us take bold steps toward a vision of forming the next generation of leaders, building a renewal hub in the RDU, and multiplying disciples and churches .

raising next generation of leaders for the Church and world
Our church is uniquely situated in an iconic and historic chapel on a college campus, just five minutes from the largest university campus in North Carolina. Our location places us at the doorstep of thousands of students and emerging leaders who are the future of our communities and world. We’re excited to have the opportunity to invest in the lives of so many young people.
Project Launching this October:
Apprenticeship Community
This October, we’ll welcome apprentices into a 1-2 year of formation through an Apprenticeship Community that integrates community formation, theological education, and hands-on ministry leadership experience. Learn more.
We’re excited to welcome Clay Crawford, who will be joining our church family as Pastor of Apprenticeship Community & Faith Formation. Clay has served as a local pastor and National Discipleship Catalyst for The Global Wesleyan Church, equipping students and young adults to follow God’s call on their lives and grow as lifelong disciples of Jesus.
“The Apprenticeship Community exists to form lifelong apprentices of Jesus. I’m looking forward to walking this journey with our apprentices, helping them pursue a life and character that embodies the Gospel, and seeing all God will do in and through them.”
Future Projects

For many young adults, graduating college means entering a new season of life…looking for roommates, building new friendships, and figuring out how to live intentionally with others. Shared Life Communities ask a simple question: What if the people we live with could also become the people we learn to follow Jesus with?
Shared Life Communities are groups of young adults who choose to live together and practice the way of Jesus in the ordinary rhythms of everyday life.
Together, they commit to rhythms of daily prayer,studying Scripture,sharing meals, serving the Church, and reaching their neighborhoods through outreach and service. Rather than simply sharing a house, they are learning how to share life, growing in Christlikeness, caring for one another, and joining Jesus in His mission.
These are practices they will be able to carry with them into future seasons of life—into their marriages, families, workplaces, neighborhoods, and wherever God may lead them.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out [ekballō] laborers into His harvest.”
— Matthew 9:37–38The Greek word translated “send out” is ekballō meaning to send forth, drive out, or thrust out. Jesus calls us not to just see the harvest, but to step into it as laborers who are willing to be sent.
The Ekballo Project is our global mission initiative designed to help young adults discover their place in God’s mission among the nations. Through the Ekballo Project, young adults will have opportunities to explore missions, serve alongside our Global ministry partners, and be a part of what God is doing in other parts of the world.
We envision Ekballo as a pathwayfrom first exposure to long-term mission. Giving young adults opportunities to take their next step, whether that means a first time mission trip, a 2-3 month long Global, internship, or eventually pursuing long-term ministry and missionary service.

A Renewal hub in Raleigh
We have Kingdom dreams for our city.
The Raleigh-Durham area is one of the fastest-growing cities in America, with nearly 70 people moving here every day. We believe God is inviting us to be part of His work of spiritual and cultural renewal in our city.
Our vision is to partner with non-profits and community leaders to meet the needs of our city while creating spaces for spiritual renewal.
A SPACE TO GATHER THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
To live out that vision, we need more than a place to gather on Sundays, we need a place to be present in our city throughout the week. Our first step is securing a space that will serve as our church offices, prayer room for the city, and gathering space for renewal.
This initial space is not the destination, it is the beginning. It is our first movement toward a much larger vision: establishing a permanent center for renewal, a place we hope to call The Garden. The Garden will be a home for prayer, formation, hospitality, and mission—a place where churches, ministries, and everyday people can gather to seek God together and be sent back into the city for its flourishing.

For The RDU Gatherings

This fall, our Young Adults will spend the last Tuesday of each month engaging in local outreach and serving alongside ministry partners like the Raleigh Dream Center, that provides residential and community outreach programs for individuals and families facing food insecurity, homelessness, addiction, unemployment, abuse, and poverty.

Renew Nights are quarterly gatherings where churches from across our city come together for a shared night of worship and prayer.
We believe renewal in our city begins with the Church seeking God together. These nights create space for churches to worship Jesus, pray for one another, and intercede for our city.

Since October 2025, we have been gathering women from across different churches and generations through Her Table, a space for women to build relationships, encourage one another, and grow together in Christ.
What began as a monthly gathering has now become a bi-monthly rhythm, creating space for women across the RDU to gather, share life, and cultivate meaningful community across generations and churches.
In January 2027, we will host the first Her Table Women’s Conference, bringing women from across the RDU together for a weekend of worship, teaching, connection, and spiritual renewal.

Next year our local church congregation will journey through a teaching series on Awakening & Renewal.
The series will culminate in a two-day gathering called As It Is in Heaven, centered on three movements: Spirit, Word, and Mission.
Our prayer is that this gathering would encourage a movement across our city toward pursuing renewal together.
Our prayer is simple: that what Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven”, would become increasingly true of our city.

Church multiplication
Church planting is one of the ways we participate in the mission of God and the expansion of the gospel.
Ultimately, we are not building City Movement Church for itself. We are building a church that plants churches.
We believe the gospel is meant to take root in new people, new communities, and new places. That means our vision extends beyond growing one local congregation. We want to see new communities of Jesus-followers formed throughout the RDU, across the nation, and beyond.
As City Movement Church grows, we want to identify and develop people with a pastoral calling, a heart for mission, and a vision for a particular place or people. We want to help them discern their calling, equip them for ministry, and send them to plant churches in cities and communities.
Our prayer is that City Movement Church would become a sending church, a church that continually raises up leaders, sends people, plants new communities, and participates in the renewal of cities “in the RDU and beyond, as it is in Heaven.”
