Local & Global Sending Discernment Team
Introduction
As a new church plant, we want to move prayerfully and thoughtfully as we discern how God is calling our church to participate in His mission locally and globally. Rather than rushing into programs or initiatives too quickly, we believe it is important to take time to listen to the Lord, recognize what He is already doing in and through our people, and carefully cultivate healthy rhythms of mission.
For that reason, we are forming the Local & Global Sending Discernment Team. This group will help us prayerfully dream, discern, and develop what a healthy culture of evangelism, justice, mercy, and mission could look like within the life of our church.
Purpose
The Local & Global Sending Discernment Team is being formed to prayerfully explore and develop a clear pathway for evangelism, local mission, and global sending within our church. This team will help identify opportunities, partnerships, and rhythms that mobilize our church to live as a sent people.
Our desire is to see members of our church grow in confidence and faithfulness in sharing the Gospel, serving the city, and participating in God’s global mission.
Vision
Our vision is to cultivate a church culture where evangelism and serving is not limited to a select few, but becomes the natural overflow of a community that genuinely loves God and desires to share Him with others.
The goal is not simply event-driven outreach, but a lifestyle of prayerful, Spirit-led evangelism and mission.
We want to become a church where:
Sharing Jesus is normal and joyful
Prayer fuels mission
Justice and mercy reflect the heart of God
Our people see themselves as both gathered and sent
Areas the Team May Explore
Sending & Commissioning
Evangelism Training Environments
Local Evangelism Opportunities

Length of Commitment
This team will serve for an initial three-month season. During this time, the group will gather to pray, discern, and begin outlining potential pathways and rhythms for evangelism, local mission, and global sending.
At the end of the three months, the team will present recommendations and potential next steps for church leadership to consider.
Connection to the Church’s Discipleship Vision
This initiative aligns with one of our core pursuits: Renewal in the City & Beyond (Doing What Jesus Did). We believe discipleship does not end with personal spiritual growth but naturally moves outward into mission, serving the city, loving our neighbors, and joining in God’s renewing work in our region and beyond.
Through this work, we hope to help our church grow into a community where people:
Share the Gospel with confidence
Serve the city with compassion
Engage in justice and mercy
Participate in God’s global mission
Desired Outcome
Our prayer is that this team will help lay the groundwork for a sustainable and intentional sending culture within our church. Over time, this work will contribute to raising up everyday missionaries, men and women who faithfully live out the Gospel in their neighborhoods, workplaces, campuses, and among the nations.
